Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might be wondering about sessions, picture day, galleries, and prints. Don't see your question? Just ask!
How do I book a session?
Send a note through the contact page or email Kristin@kristincolephotography.com with a little about what you have in mind. You'll hear back within one business day to find a date that works for you.
What should we wear?
Soft, coordinating colors photograph beautifully — think complementary tones rather than perfectly matching outfits. Avoid large logos and neon colors. Most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable and confident in; happy, relaxed people make the best portraits.
How long does a session last?
Family sessions run around 45–60 minutes, senior sessions a bit longer depending on outfits and locations, and mini sessions are a short themed time slot. Newborn and children's sessions are unhurried — we always work around naps and moods.
When will our photos be ready?
Every image in your gallery is carefully hand-edited, and most galleries are delivered within a few weeks of your session. School and team picture days can take a little longer because of volume — you'll always get a timeline on the day.
How do we view and order our photos?
After your session you'll receive a private online gallery link by email. From your gallery you can view your images anywhere, download high-resolution files, and order professional prints, wall art, and albums. Learn more on the Client Galleries page.
What if we're not happy with our portraits?
Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you're not happy with your images, I'll make it right — a retake or your money back, no hard feelings.
How does picture day work for schools?
I partner with charter and private schools to run organized, efficient picture days — individual portraits, class groups, and yearbook-ready files. Families order online through private galleries, so there are no paper forms for your office to chase. Reach out for a custom proposal for your school.
What are mini sessions and how do I hear about them?
Mini sessions are short, seasonal themed sessions — a quick time slot with a handful of beautifully edited images. They're announced a few times a year and fill fast. Join the mini session list to hear about new dates first.
What happens if it rains or we need to reschedule?
Life happens! If the weather doesn't cooperate for an outdoor session, or something comes up, just reach out and we'll find a new date that works — no stress and no penalty.
